One of the things I really love about this house is the enormous, noisy fan in the hallway ceiling. When you turn it on it has a pleasant, echo-y, clockwork sound, and it sucks air out of the house and vents it through the attic. Fresh air comes in through the doors if you open them, through the cockroach holes if you don't.
It's best on wet rainy days like today, because it makes the whole house smell like wet grass and wind.
Mr. L is in Austin playing softball. The kids and I just finished making a double batch of chocolate chip cookies, and we're sitting dow to watch Tale of Despereaux. It looks like something Graeme Base drew, but it sounds pretty stupid.
We'll see.

So was the small mouse with big ears stupid? Blondiekins wants me to watch it with her but I'm puttin' it off. If didn't yak that might just turn the tide in her favor.
I feel for the poor thing, I really do. She got a bit out of control over the last month and husbando and I were trying to bring her back into line gently but it kind of all fell apart today and *I* had to spank her with a wooden spoon. Twice. In as many minutes. Then again about 10 minuets later. Her little butt is just red with obedience. I told her the same thing Mom and Dad used to tell us "I'm doing this because I love you and I want you to be able to reach your full potential" etc., etc., etc. Funny how it sounds different on this side, ne?
Anyway, the house is...small. I have more boxes than I have space; it's that damnable book collection that's killing me. Had to put it into storage along with a bunch of other fluff. I'm trying to get rod of as much as I can. but I won't pitch the E.B. or the 5-foot shelf o' knowledge or the Kids' Encyclopaedia. So I'm a little screwed. = )

Incedentally, the word I hate to type to post this is: flatiant. Doesn't that sound like what southern women might have instead of flatulence? = )
