It's like a giant, city-wide free yard sale.
I have to go 'shopping' by myself though, since Mr. legs is apparently too good to go digging through other people's trash. ;-P
Hopefully this means it's super awesome:
Mr. Legs is going to help me fix it up. Instead replacing the cane, I think I'm going to make some cushions for it. And I'll probably paint it glossy white.

Great find. Can't wait to see the "after" pictures. Those are really comfortable rockers. I have to go with Mr. Legs...I would have a hard time "shopping" too, but looks like it pays off.
Getting it recaned is a whole lot cheaper than getting a chair rerushed. Cushions would need some sort of support in the middle. Good luck on the renovation!
I was all set to tell you to bloody post something new, but it looks like you beat me to it! AWESOME find, BTW. Mr. Legs clearly is missing out (maybe he's afraid he couldn't crawl back out of a tall can? = ) ). You know, after you get it glossy, sometimes craft stores like Garden Ridge or similar sometimes sell sheets of caning. Alternately, if you have the means to get a piece of wood cut to fit, get plywood cut for the seat and back, some cheap batting and cover with that $1.00/yd fabric from WalMart and nail that crap on. I did that with the barrel chair that was Daddy's cause I couldn't stand the fabric on it; took me 5 minutes, tops. However you end up finishing it off, you MUST post pics! You're like the San Antonian Martha!
Miss you.
