I don't know why, they just really remind me of underwear.
Still, I think I did a pretty good job, and it lets a little light in. It'll look better once the walls are white again.
Here's another chair I found:
It's old, greasy, and stuffed with horsehair, but I think it's pretty. I'm going to try to re-upholster it. I haven't sat in it (it really is disgusting) but it looks deep and comfortable.
And this is a little table I found. I thought it would be nice to set a glass of water on while feeding the baby, if I can get everything finished sometime before he weans...I'm not sure what I'll do for the top, maybe tile? I had thought it would be cool to get a piece of Corian for it, but I don't know if they'll sell me a piece that small.

You are so sneaky! Are you going to paint the chair white, too? And will you get newer cushions, or just recover them? Maybe you could dunk them in a tub full of bleach solution and dry them in the sun to kill everything...hrmmm...I'll agree that the bones are nice. Good eye!
As an idea for the table top, why not get a crappy piece of plywood cut to size, paint it white (or black) and then use pain sample cards to make paper "tile". Glue them on in a fun pattern or mosiac them in, then smack a piece of glass or plexiglass or clear plasic on top. Voila! And the best part is that paint sample cards are FREE. But you might have to make two or three trips to Lowe's... = )
How are things? Are the kids going to make Mr. Legs breakfast in bed? I bet Maria's a sharp little chef by now. Blondiekins wants to help, but my kitchen now is even smaller than yours, and I think I might scramble her by mistake.
Anyway, hugs and kisses to you all.
I have a curtain that looks just like a slip, so I can relate to underwear window coverings. Your furniture projects are quite ambitious, good luck with that..Post some picks after. Happy Father's day to your hubby (I never met him but I know he is a dad).
